With a considered architecture to help stakeholders understand how our brands contribute and how they fit together, Dears Healthcare Group is expanding its presence across Edinburgh, Fife and Glasgow. Our aspiration is to help our patients access high quality, convenient healthcare in their community and online. Combining our knowledge of medicines with a constantly developing expertise across a wide range of clinical activity we tailor our care to patients needs. Dears Pharmacy and Travel Clinic exists to help patients within our communities live healthier lives. We do this by providing professional, safe, reliable medicines supply both on prescription and over the counter with the advice patients need to get the best from their medicines. We strive to meet other healthcare needs by offering a range of over 130 clinical services and products throughout Edinburgh, Fife, Glasgow and online. Our highly trained pharmacist clinicians and their teams are constantly updating their knowledge and skill to provide the highest standards of care right where patients need it, where they live.
We are an independent company and have been family owned since 1990 when Barrie and Lesley Dear established the company. In 2019 Mahyar and Sara Nickkho-Amiry took majority ownership of the company and together the two families continue to work hard to care for our patients. With 13 locations throughout Edinburgh, Fife and Glasgow and growing, we are expanding so that we can deliver our unique care to a wider population.
PillPouch is a free NHS funded service that provides a unique solution for patients who are taking multiple medications per day and is available nationwide across Scotland. Following easy online patient registration prescriptions are obtained from their surgery and processed in our pharmacy. Medication is then pre-packed in easy-to-open pouches and labelled with instructions. Pouches are presented from the PillPouch box in the order they should be taken, with each pouch containing the medication due at a particular time on a specific day.
PillPouch helps patients organise their medicines reducing the risk of missed doses, enabling medicines to be carried during travel and is supported by reliable, professional advice. PillPouch and postal delivery is free to the patient.
Prescription Lockers are safe, prescription collection machines that store patients’ prescriptions ready for collection whenever it is convenient. 24 hours a day. 365 days a year. Offering complete convenience to help patients fit medicines into their life in a way that suits them, Prescription Lockers can be located in our pharmacies, health and beauty locations or as standalone installations.
With Prescription Lockers in the majority of our estate and continuous expansion to other locations, both within and outside of our current geography, this service is an important part of bringing together patients and medicines in ways that support health and fit life.

With NHS prescription collection via a handy 24 hour, 7 days a week collection machine patients can also collect their NHS prescription when it suits them.
